The Federal Government’s Productivity Places Program. -PPP-

This training offer is an Australian Government initiative to provide you with qualifications and skills - a fully funded course paid for by the Productivity Places Program
More details and forms you can download to apply for the PPP funding will be available during September 08.
You will be able to undertake the courses listed below.
If you have existing skills they will be recognised and you will gain credits for that existing knowledge and practical skill.

Eligibility criteria apply and currently only job seekers are eligible, however it is expected that in 2009 those who are employed will also be eligible.

Certificate III in Computing (Information Technology) ICA30105
(This course requires a confident level of basic computer skills brfore you start)
Units include: -
Use software such as Word, Excel, Access and Movie Maker at an advanced level
• Diagnose and solve computer problems
• Install, maintain and manage computer hardware
• Install, manage and optimise operating systems
• Advise and manage clients

Certificate II in Customer Contact - BSB20207
If you are new to or have no experience serving customers it starts here.
Units at this level include:
• Action customer contact
• Use multiple information systems
• Deliver and monitor a service to customers
• Work effectively in a contact centre environment
• Communicate in the workplace
• Operate a personal computer
• Participate in OHS processes

Certificate III in Customer Contact - BSB30207
If you have had a job for a while and are skilled in varied work areas including some decision making and giving advice/support to others, this may be the level of study that suits you.
Units at this level include:
• Use multiple information systems
• Deliver and monitor a service to customers
• Apply knowledge of OHS legislation in the workplace
• Develop product knowledge
• Work effectively with others
• Organise personal work priorities and development

Certificate IV in Customer Contact - BSB40307
If you have well-developed skills and if you can apply solutions to problems, and evaluate information and provide leadership and guidance to others in your workplace this qualification is what you are looking for.
Units at this level include:
• Gather, collate and record information
• Coordinate implementation of customer service strategies
• Develop teams and individuals
• Implement continuous improvement
• Provide personal leadership
• Monitor a safe workplace
• Provide mentoring and coaching within the workplace

These Customer Contact business courses provide practical skills to let you understand the tasks and perform the tasks associated with shop and office work with confidence

The choice of when to study and how hard you work is up to you. The distance education (correspondence) format allows you to work at your own pace. You do need a business you can use as a case study, someone you can ask questions about their business that will assist and enable you to successfully complete activities in each unit. If you undertake computing skills units ready access to computer is also essential.
